Question
Is money the root of all evil?
Answer
No, desire is. brbrMoney is closely tied to desire, but what about the desire to rid the world of say pink plastic yard flamingoes? If you happen to love pink plastic yard flamingos, then anyone who undertakes to extinguish them from existence, because they desire a world free from them, would be evil. This type of evil has nothing to do with money. It does have to do with your perspective on what is good and what is bad in the world.brbrLets try another thought experiment. Imagine a world where there is no money. All we have is barter trading goods for goods, or our time for goods. How can we equate this situation to your quotmoney is the root of all evilquot premise? The accumulation of goods perhaps? Would this be wealth of posessions? How does one gain a wealth of posessions with no money? Labor. Is work evil? Not according to most religious beliefs. Only forced labor might be considered evil. What would make someone force others to work for something they want? It looks like were back to desire.
